Letter from Joan (Laing) Evans, March 2001 to James C. Anderson

"Chuck and I go married in Winfield, B.C. at the United Church. Reception was held in the church basement. We then moved to Sandspit in the Queen Charlotte Islands, were we lived for 9 years.

Before we were married, mom was visiting Jean & myself in Vancouver. Chuck went over to introduce himself to her at our apartment and discovered they were both born in Avonlea, Saskatchewan. They were both delivered by the same "Dr. Dunnit". Chuck's dad also worked on the harvest crew on the Cripps farm. Although both families never knew one another, it was interesting to know Chuck & I would meet in Vancouver and have that connection."

Charles married Kathleen Joan Laing, daughter of John Laing and Clara May Cripps, on 5 Jan 1957 in United Church, Winfield, B.C. (Kathleen Joan Laing was born on 29 Jun 1937 in Kelowna General Hospital, Kelowna, B.C. ² and died on 22 Sep 2004 in Nanaimo, B.C. ³.) The cause of her death was liver failure.
