"My father was of a literary turn and wrote a good deal, both of poetry and prose. The Cincinnati Weekly Gazette at one time used some of his writings. He was at one time a wealthy man, but owing to worries brought about by having to pay a large security debt and having stock in the Toledo and St. Louis Air Line R. R., which fell through, he was forced to assign, and the result was he only lived about five years after that.
We were all members of the Friends Church.
