MRS. CORA WINCH OF TRUMAN DIES, October 1951

Mrs. Cora Winch 81, of Truman, died Monday after an illness of several months with hardening of the arteries. She has been a resident of Truman the past 34 years, moving there from Nashville township, where she was born and raised.
She was born in Nashville township May 23, 1870, a daughter of Orrin
Herrick. In 1888 she married James R. Winch. they farmed in Nashville until they moved to Truman.
Surviving are nine children, Lee Winch of Inglewood, Calif., Bert Winch of Winnebago, Elsie ( Mrs. Elmer Sackett) of Nashville, Jay Winch of Truman, Ora Winch of Truman, Ina (Mrs. Roy Sugar) of Weaver, Ia. Everett Winch of Winnebago, Paul Winch of Winnebago, Robert Winch of Compton Calif., also grandchildren, one brother, Fred Herrick of Truman.
Funeral services will be held Friday, a family service at 10:30 a. m. at
the Olson Funeral home, and public church services at 2 p.m. in the Baptist Church, in Truman, Rev. Vern Lake officiating. Burial will be in Nashville cemetery. Friends may call at the Olson funeral home from noon Wednesday until noon Friday. Mrs. Herrick will be taken tot he church at noon Friday to lie in state until the service.

NASHVILLE NATIVE RITES FRIDAY, October 1951

Death came at 11:45 a.m. Monday, October 1, to Mrs. Cora Winch of Truman. She was 81 years old and had spent the entire 81 years in this locale. Death was caused by hardening of the arteries. Mrs. Winch was born in Nashville township and continuted to live there after her marriage. In 1917, Mrs Winch retired from farming and moved into Truman. Mr. Winch passed away in 1940.
Survivors include her sons, Bert, Everett, and Paul of Winnebago, Lee of Inglewood Calif., Jay and Ora of Truman, and Robert of Compton Calif., her daughters Elsie (Mrs. Elmer Sackett of nashville), and Ina (Mrs. Roy Sugar of Weaver Iowa); 21 grandchildren, 23 great granchildren and one brother, Fred Herrick of Truman.
Funeral serivces will be held Friday, October 5, at 10:30 a.m. from the Olson Funeral Home. This will be a family service. At noon the body will be taken to the Truman Baptist Church to lie in state until 2:00p.m. when the final rites will be held. The Reverend Vern Lake will officiate. Burial will be in the Nashville cemetery. Six grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Olson Funeral Home until Friday noon.
