Jim, I was browsing in World Connect and came across your Stoners. My ancestors came from Sussex and I have a database of births, marriages, deaths, some census and other ecords. My interest is in making connections for the benefit of future researchers. From my files, my speculation is :

Are you able to confirm any or all of the above the above? I haven't spotted the deaths index entries of Alice or Frederick G nd wondered whether the latter died abroad? Death of an Alice was registered in Worthing in 1957, aged 79.
Going backwards is rather more speculative.
A birth 1858 4Q Charles Henry Stoner, Cuckfield and marriage 1888 2Q Charles Henry Stoner, Lewes look plausible, together with a death 1913 4Q Charles H Stoner aged 54 Cuckfield 2B174.
