About nine miles south-west of Warrington, in Latimer, now Huntington, Township, Adams County, is Huntington Meeting House, situated on a wooded ridge overlooking Bermudian Creek, some two miles south-east of the Borough of York Springs, formerly Petersburg. Unauthorized meetings were held in the neighborhood as early as 1745, for at Sadsbury Monthly Meeting, 9 Mo. 4, 1745, William Garretson was directed to read three papers of acknowledgment “at Huntington Meeting.” These meetings evidently convened at the house of John Cox, where nearly all the early marriages

The first marriage at Huntington was that of Nicholas Wierman, son of William Wierman, of Huntington, to Sarah Cox, daughter of John Cox, of the same place, 8 Mo. 24, 1745.
