NOTE: The parents of Dorothea Radcliffe is very much in question at this time as the age difference between Dorothea (b. 1874) and the supposed grandparents ( Esther Jane Bronte and William Radcliffe ) is excessive at 95 years for 2 generations.
The marriage registration on order from Ireland for Dorothea and her husband William John Blemings (abt 1899) should clarify the situation. Expected delivery Dec 30, 2002. jca
I have also requested the birth registration of Dorothea Radcliffe from Ireland, (1874) so between the birth registration and her marriage registration, this question of her parentage should be cleared up. jca
January 23, 2003, received reply from Irish General Register Office:
"No entry was found in the period from 1873 to 1875 inclusisive for a birth of Dorothea Radcliffe."
"No entry was found in the period from 1898 to 1900 inclusive for a marriage of William John Blemmings and Dorothea Radcliffe."

David Douglas Blemings of Converse TX actually met Dorothea (Radcliffe) Blemings in Ireland when he visited there as a young man. 3

Dorothea married William John Blemings, son of James Blemings and Sarah Jane McWhor, in 1899 in Newcastle, County Down, Ireland.1 (William John Blemings was born on 18 Feb 1874 in Belfast, Ireland 4 5 and died on 12 Apr 1932 in Belfast, Ireland 4.)
