What's new in the Wood and Blemings Family History
November 23, 2005, As per the client's request, removed the detailed family history files from the web site , upon completion of the family research project.
August 7, 2005, added the 1861 census record for the family of John and Ann Lee of Grantham, Lincolnshire, Added the 1861 census record for Jane Carlton and children Joseph, William, Mary and Hugh of Grantham, Lincolnshire. Added the birth and christening index records of the family of William Silverwood and wife Sarah of Croxton Keyrial, Leicester, (1809- 1816). Added the marriage index record of John Carlton and Jane Silverwood, of Croxton Keyrial, Leicester, dated 16 May, 1842.
April 22, 2004, added the 1891 census records for the William Lee family and the Arthur Harrison family of Grantham, Lincolnshire
December 24, 2002, received a very nice letter from Julia Anne (Wood) Lucas , helping to fill in many of the gaps in our database of the Woods and Hagarty families. Added all details to web site. located what will very likely prove to be the Harrison family living in Bulwell, Nottingham on the 1901 census.. The marriage record of Hatfield Lee and Mary Louisa Harrison should prove it out when it arrives.
December 23, 2002, requested from England the marriage registration for Hatfield Lee and Mary Louisa Harrison, abt 1912, either in Nottingham or in Grantham. expect 3 week delivery.
December 23, 2002, added the birth registration of Katherine Mary Lee, 1913, picking up the mother (Mary Louisa Harrison). Also added a county map of England to the Map Page, along with a map of Nottingham, showing the birth place of Katherine Mary Lee.
December 22, 2002, located the marriage records of Rev. Henry James Grasett, Rector of the St. James Cathedral in Toronto, which included the records of some of the Grasett and Hagarty family members, including that of his sister's marriage in 1843 to John Hawkins Hagarty. (later to become Sir John Hawkins Hagarty)
December 21, 2002, Located the 1891 census records for the John Hawkins Hagarty family in Toronto, (St. Patrick's ward). Note the profession of John H Hagarty as "Vessel owner", Located the 1891 census records for the Grasett family of Toronto. Reviewed the Gates connection to the Hagarty families and dug into the 1871 Hamilton census records and located the Gates family. The father of Florence Alicia Gates (wife of George H Hagarty) turned out to be Fredrick W. Gates, Merchant.
December 20, 2002, Thanks to the 1871 and the 1881 census records of Eldon twp, Ontario, determined the patriarch of the Gillanders, Alexander Gillanders, born abt 1811 in Scotland. With the 1861 and 1871 census records added a further generation back in time for the Umphrey family (Samuel and Lucinda, age 73 on the 1861 census) and also many more details on the Barker and the St John families.
December 17, 2002, located and added the parents of Donald Campbell and also the parents of Margret Gillanders both of Eldon twp, Victoria North, Ontario.

also Mrs. Vera (Hudson) Wood , was able to piece together the
Hagarty line of the family back to Mathew Hagarty of Dublin, Ireland.
This also included the Gates and the Grasett families. Added 1871
and 1881 census records for Sir John Hawkins Hagarty and family,
Toronto, Ontario
Added biography of Sir John Hagarty published by the University
of Toronto Press.

William was a emloyer described as a Hatter's Farrier. Added details
of ages and birthplaces into database.
Then located the 1881 census record for William Lee, his wife
Mary, his first son Carlton, living in Spittlesgate, Lincolnshire
England. Address 77 Norton Street. Also located the 1901 census
records for 3 of the sons of William who were away working or
studying being Carlton, Godfrey and Silverwood Lee.

Sent a request by fax to the Irish General Register office for
the birth registration records for William John Blemings (1874)
and his wife Dorothea Radcliffe (1874) as well as their marriage
registration (1899) .. expect 2 week delivery.
Corrected a couple of items on the web site as he now believes that the parents of William John Blemings are James Blemings and Sarah McWhirr. The birth registration for William John Blemings should clarify this question.

into the Blemings family.
Sent him a few additions and corrections for his files. Inserted
his data on William Blemings (1844 - 1888) and Sarah McWirr and
family into this database.
