James ? Burke ¹

Mrs. Enid Chittenden remembers exchanging letters with Father James Burke, a catholic priest , in Maryland . USA and it is possible that this James Burke would be a brother to Annetta Miller Enid Stampe (Burke) Newberry.

A search of the 1930 census records shows only one James Burke, (Priest)

James Burke, Head, male, white, age 61, single, born Irish Free State, parents born Irish Free State, spoke Gaelic prior to coming to United States, immigration 1893, profession: Priest, Catholic Church

This particular James Burke would seem to be too old to be the one that Mr. Chittenden was writing to in the 1960's however..
