________________________________________________________ This 1881 census shows considerable promise in as much as the daughter Louisia R Parsons was born in Newfoundland which matches the birthplace of our George W Parsons. As well, the names of the parents (Wlliam and Jane) match that described on the 1914 death registration of our George W Parsons. jca

Dear Sir I recently read through your genealogy pages and one tree in particular piqued my interest; that of the Duggan-Parsons family. My family had a long association with many of the Parsons, who as you may know were quite prolific in Newfoundland. You may want to pass on the following information. We think George Walter Parsons was the son of William Thomas Parsons and Margaret Jane Davis of St. John's. WT Sr. was a watchmaker in St. John's before moving to Toronto with his family. WT was born in St. John's, we think, May 15 1814. Jane was from England and was born abt. 1820. They were married in St. John at the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on July 21, 1836. The witnesses listed were Henry Parsons and Mary Ann Davis. George Walter had an older brother, Jonathan, who died in St. John's abt 1865. He had another brother, WT Jr., who was also a watchmaker in Seaforth, who'd married Georgina Marshall in 1877. He probably had several sisters but the only one we know about is Louisa, a school teacher in Toronto. Regards, John Thompson
William married Jane Davis.
