Note that as per the 1881 census shown below, that after the death of Robert Shortess and Bridget (Keating) Shortess and of Bridget (O'Dey) Shortess, two of their children (James and Christiana Shortess) are now living with their uncle Patrick and aunt Margaret (Fitzgerald) Keating. jca

Two other children (Mary and Robert) are living with the aunt Marguerite (Shortess) and uncle Octave Julien family in 1881.

Bridget married Robert Shortess. (Robert Shortess was born about 1825 in Scotland,^{159,207,215,262,275} died on 13 Apr 1875 in Quebec ^262,276 and was buried on 15 Apr 1875 in St Patrick's Parish, Quebec City ^262,276.)
