bullet  General Notes:

Re Gerald:

In looking on the web again - I always do that after my trip to Kelowna - I looked at what's been gathered on Gerald so far and noticed that info on his death registration shows him living at 30 Ashburnam Mansions prior to being hospitalized. That address was familiar to me and sure enough, it is listed as being the residence of Violet Dyson in the British Phone Books from at least April 1927 to February 1932.

He must have been staying with Violet - maybe for some time perhaps? We have him returning to England 16 Mar 1926 along with Dora Christian and Master Charles Dyson. They don't seem to be around when he passed away in 1931.

Bob Dyson also told us that "Gerald's illegimate son" came to Kelowna and looked up Terence Dyson but was basically turned away at the door. We learned this after our visit with Catharine and if this was Charles, who was recorded on the passenger list as being born in 1921, would have been same age as Catharine and maybe she heard about his visit? Might be worth pursuing too.

More to come....

Kind regards

Good Morning Reverend Kevin
We initially dealt with Mr Dyson's widow, Edith, who then passed away on 31 July 2010.
I had visited Mrs Dyson in 2008, as she had initially wished to take out a Golden Charter Plan, but instead just left instructions with me, and had nominated her neighbour, Joyce Francis of No 8 Clos de Carteret, Rue de Carteret, Cobo, Castel, as her Executor. Mrs Francis' telephone number was 0044 1481 257511.

I have checked our records of the death notice, and have found there to be no mention of children, but as an auntie to Christine and great-aunt of Catherine and Paul. I have no contact details for these relations.
I'm afraid that this is all the information that I am able to provide, but hope it is of some assistance to your enquirer?

June 5th, 2013. A quick phone call to Mrs Francis revealed that Charles G H Dyson and his wife Edith Kelly had no children, but the name of their niece Christine Hassek lives in Burnley, Lancashire and her phone number is: 01282 772960. James.

June 5th, 2013
A phone call to Christine Hassek in Lancashire this morning confirmed that Charles G H Dyson and wife Edith Kelly had no children. Christine's mother was Josephine Kelly, sister to Edith Kelly. Josephine and Edith's parents were James Kelly and Francis Campbell. A bit of searching for the birth registrations in England this morning indicates that Edith and Josephine's births were registered in Whitehaven, Cumberland in 1925 and 1920 respectively. I now have entered all the above in the Dyson database and will appear on our website in due course sometime today. James.
