bullet  General Notes:

1891 census, Southern Alberta
Gertrude Hudson is now married to George Patterson. (as of 1890)
A search of the 1891 index produced by the Alberta Genealogy Society finds:

PATTERSON, GEORGE M 24 England CE RANCHER A25D
He appears to be the only George Patterson of a reasonable age and religion considering the age and religion of Gertrude Hudson. (Church of England)

Hi to you all:
Can't even remember how I came across a Passenger List of one George Patterson arriving in New Orleans from Colon, Panama in 1908, however something made me look at the detail.
First, this George was travelling with a wife named Paulina so I nearly 'x'd it, but then noticed they gave a contact name of a brother-in-law, Osborne Brown in Calgary, Alberta. Yikes, our George's sister, Ann married Osborne Brown in Calgary. This has to be our guy.
The result (due to my insatiable curiosity) is attached. This guy was on the move regularly and I just thought you'd be interested in what he was up to after he and Gertrude Bessie parted ways.
So, I didn't think any of this info was material to what might be added to the family tree. Note that he was even living in Vancouver for a while -- and all the time I thought he left England and went directly to South America. Haven't detected any documentation of him marrying the fair Paulina though.
The picture of Osborne Brown's place - I found that in a book Florence gave me to read called "Scoundrels, Dreamers & Second Sons"- British Remittance Men in the Canadian West by Mark Zuehlke.
Cheers, Maureen
