Anita Borradaile Hadley spent her early years moving throughout England and North America, wherever her father's profession took her. She taught for sixteen years at Royal Roads Military College, ten of them as head of the Department of Second Language Training. She is now retired and lives in Victoria, British Columbia, with her husband, Michael.

Michael married Anita Lippens Borradaile, daughter of Osmond Hudson Borradaile and Christiane Berthe Lippens. (Anita Lippens Borradaile was born on 19 May 1938 in Los Angeles, California ⁴⁵⁴.)
