Charlie Linstedt Dyson 20,307,330,530
General Notes: According to Bob Dyson, Charlie was murdered by an Indian native during an uprising in Jessore. The internet has several websites referring to a farmers' uprising in 1889 because the British ordered them to plant indigo, which had become a very popular colour in Britain, rather than rice and other foodstuffs for their own consumption. He was an Assistant Superintendent of the Bengal Police at the time. Jessore is now in Bangladesh, a country that was created during the 1947 partitioning of India. Research Notes: Six year old Charlie Dyson shows up for the first time on the 1871 Ickham, Kent census with his grandmother Emily Henty and sisters Emily and Ella. Noted events in his life were: • Residence: Fort William, 1865, Calcutta, Bengal, India. 530 • Residence: Ickham Lodge, 1871, Ickham, Kent. 330 • Occupation: Assistant Supt. of Bengal Police, 1889, Bengal, India. 307,531 |
