"James, our Canadian Pioneer built his home near or in New York City. During the war he moved his family inland probably to Poughkeepsie because they were in the war zone. After the war he tried to take his family back to their old home but found squatters had taken over. Then he decided there was no justice in the U.S.A. so he came to Canada with his family and settled on the south shore of Hay Bay.

I have found it very difficult to do this family tree because so many names are alike. For generations the eldest son was called Jacobus Benjamin and the Jacobus Benjamin would call his eldest son Benjamin Jacobus et cetera down several generation."
