Charles Doig (E004, by D019) was born 10 Jan 1752 in Calton and christened 15 Jan 1752 in South Leith, Midlothian; witnesses were Gilbert Doig, wright, and William Norrie, wright in Calton.

Charles married Elizabeth Beaton (Beaston, Bettan, Bethune) on 2 Dec 1774 in Canongate, Edinburgh. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Beaton, Weaver. She was buried 15 Dec 1826 with her husband in Grayfriar's Cemetery, Edinburgh.
Charles was a shoemaker.

Charles was buried 13 July 1819 in Grayfriar's Cemetery, Edinburgh.

William Doig (F011, by E004) was christened 27 July 1788 in Canongate, Edinburgh.
In 1803/4 William joined the British Army in the 72nd Regiment of Foot. He served 18 years as a private with 4 years in India. He was discharged 19 June 1822.

William married first Margaret Dunn on 24 Feb 1823 in Edinburgh. William was listed as a hairdresser from Old Kirk Parish. Margaret was listed from Old Kirk Parish, the daughter of Thomas Dunn, shoemaker, Canongate.
William married second Catherine Paxton on 23 Oct 1823 in Canongate. William was listed as a hairdresser on Shoemaker's Close, Doig's Land, Canongate. Catherine lived at #61 High Street, Canongate. She was the daughter of the late George Paxton, soldier in the 7th Dragoons. The marriage was certified by W. McDougal, elder.
William married third Ann Calder on 5 Dec 1837 in Duddingston, Midlothian. Ann was christened 21 Aug 1818 in Canongate, Edinburgh, the daughter of William Calder and Jane Kilpatrick.
In 1861 William was a Chelsea Pensioner and master hairdresser living at 40 High Street, Portobello, Duddingston; his wife and all the children were at home.
William died 12 June 1863 at 50 High Street, Portobello, of paralysis after 6 weeks; witness was his daughter Elizabeth Doig of Perth. [The death certificate incorrectly lists his parents as William Doig, master shoemaker, and Elizabeth Reaton.]
In 1881 Ann lived in London, England with children Christina, William, Alexander, Sarah, David, Mary, and Isabella. Ann died Oct/Dec 1905 in Richmond South, England.

Elizabeth Doig (G005, by F011) was born 6 June 1840 in Portobello and christened 19 July 1840 in Duddingston.
In 1861 Elizabeth was a domestic servant living with her parents at 50 High Street, Portobello. In 1864 she was a ladies maid and domestic servant.
Elizabeth married William Kyles on 13 Nov 1864 at 48 High Street, Portobello, Duddingston, Midlothian, the bride's home. Witnesses were James Law and James McIntosh. William was born in 1837/8 in Edinburgh, the son of Andrew Kyles, tailor and clothier, and Isabella McDonald. He was a photographer living at 206 High Street, Portobello.
In 1881 the family lived at 3 Waggon Road, Newton on Ayr, Ayrshire; son William was not in the household and is presumed deceased.
