March 12, 2003 , received word from England that there is no birth record for Ann Beardsworth, born 6 March, 1890 in Bolton, Lancashire. It would appear that the information on the death registration for Ann (Beardsworth) Ashworth in incorrect in some way. jca
The next step would be search for the marriage registration of Ann and Albert Ashworth from Claresholm Alberta in 1909. jca

Long-time resident here dies
Resident of the city for the past 48 years, Albert Ashworth, 807 Bay Avenue, died in Kelowna General Hospital Monday after being in failing health for several months. He was 76 years of age.
A member of the Sons of England Lodge and a former member of the Anglican Men's Club, Mr. Ashworth was predeceased by his wife, Annie, last December 20. He was a blacksmith by trade, having started out as an apprentice at the age of 12 in his birthplace, Halliwell, Lancastershire, England.
He came to Canada in 1906 and spent a short time at Woodstock, Ont. and also at Claresholm, Alta., where he married Annie Beardsworth, in 1909. They moved to Kelowna shortly afterwards and remained here ever since, except for four years at the Coast.
The late Mr. Ashworth leaves two daughters, Mrs. George (Ivy) Porter of East Kelowna, and Miss Nellie Ashworth, Kelowna, and three grandchildren.
Funeral service was held this afternoon at St. Michael and All Angels' Church with Ven. D. S. Catchpole officiating. Interment followed at the Kelowna cemetery, in the family plot. Pallbearers were William Shugg, Harry Snowsell, Frank Smalldon, Arthur Bladock, Harry Preston and Fred Tutt.
Kelowna Funeral Directors were entrusted with the arrangements.
