Note by jca.. the above Mary Webster , age 48 , surely born England as per 1871 census, Also Mary Webster possibly a widow in 1861 as shown on 1871 census.

Note by jca..The email dated March 9, 2002 from Mr. Peter Hamer of the Isle of Alderney indicates that John Webster, the son of Mathew and Mary Webster married Mary Lee and had a child called Edward Hudson Webster in June of 1853 on the Isle of Alderney.. This would indicate that the Edward Webster and Albina Mary Webster age 8 and age 5 on the 1861 census would be the grandchildren of Mary Webster.
The apparent father, John Webster, age 18 on the 1851 Isle of Alderney census is yet to be found after that. Where did he go??
