THE MUSSELMANS

Perry and Olga Musselman had many girls and boys,
Who brought them many headaches, and also many joys.

Twelve merry Musselmen who must have come from heaven,
A bird flew away with Bernice and then there were eleven.

Eleven eager Musselmen -- happy in the glen,
Roy spied Hazel, then there were ten.

Ten thrifty Musselmen trying to toe the line,
Mel said he was leaving, now there were nine.

Nine thrifty Musselmen for meals were never late,
Gordon found his Elspeth, then there were eight.

Eight happy Musselmen looking up to heaven,
Bill took Irene away -- that left seven.

Seven silly Musselmen full of funny tricks,
Vic and Lois we in Flin Flon, so now there were six.

Six jolly Musselmen lucky to be alive,
Frank and June tied the knot, now there were five.

Five feisty Musselmen wishing there were more,
Earl and Helen said "We Do," then there were four.

Four funny Musselmen frisky as can be,
Arlo took dear Eadie -- that left three.

Three carefree Musselmen looking for something to do,
Jerry wed sweet Doris, so there were only two.

Two lonesome Musselmen looking for some fun,
Ken fell for Lorna, that left just one.

One beautiful Musselman had to find some fun,
She caught her handsome George, and then there were none.

These twelve married Musselmen made homes here and there,
Now you find these crazy Musselmen almost everywhere.

Carl Dahlby Fatally Injured Friday

Carl E. Dahlby, the father of Mrs. Howard Westerhouse of this City, was instantly killed in a accident at Elroy, Wisconsin on Friday, when the large limb of a tree he was trimming struck him on the head.

With his son, Levi Dahlby of La Crosse, he had gone to the Melvin Fauska farm home at Elroy that morning to spend the weekend with his daughter, Mrs. Fauska and assist in the farm work while his son-in-law went deer hunting.
Mr. Dahlby was well known in Onalaska as he had been making his home with the Howard Westerhouse family here. Besides Mrs. Westerhouse and Mrs. Fauska he is survived by one other daughter, Mrs. Perry Musselman of Crystal Springs, Saskatchewan, Canada, and three sons, Levi and LeRoy of La Crosse and Chester of Galesville and one brother Ben of La Crosse, 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife and one son preceeded him in death.
Mr. Dahlby was born September 11, 1869 in Lewis Valley in La Crosse County and had been a resident in this vicinity for the greater part of his 72 years.
Funeral services were conducted at the Howard Westerhouse home at 1:30 o'clock and at the Norwegian Lutheran church by Dr. Carl O. Pederson at 2 o'clock. Mrs. John C. Westerhouse was the soloist. Pall bearers were Ed. Larson, Harry Schilling, Charles Hanson, George Peterson, Emil Christopherson and Warren Aiken. Internment under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home was made in the Onalaska cemetery.
