according to an email from Cindy (Anderson ) Huish, July 3, 2001 , the source of which was an album created for the funeral of Harry Joseph Huish , d. 2000 by the family. portion of the text as follows:

* Lillie was christened October 29, 1878 at the Scottish Presbyterian English Church in Odessa, Ukraine
Lillie's parents were Charles Taylor and Ann Lloyd. They were shot and killed in front of their 3 children in Russia. Lillie's two older brothers went to the harbour with the 3 yr. old Lillie in tow and begged a ship to take them back to England. They worked on the boat and got back to England but both boys being under the age of ten could not care for their sister. She went into an orphanage and was later adopted. (note additional email letter as below for a rebuttal of the above history)

Dear Cindy,
Your Uncle was contacted by a long lost relative of mine in England and he has all the history on Frank's great grandmother Lillie Anna Taylor, dating back to 1699. It seems we have a cousin "Mark Taylor" who is captain of the Welsh Rubgy Team who played in the World Cup last year. We also learned that everything Lillie told Grandpa or Harry was a load of B.S. but we now know why she lied and the truth is not that bad, just a bit embarassing. She lived 11 years in Russia (not 3) and her one brother returned there and worked into his twenties. Seems her oldest brothers were quite well educated and spoke Russian and English fluently and worked in the office (not miners as we had thought). I have pictures of them looking very Russian. There were 3 other children but the two young ones were essentially orphaned in Russia and never went back to Wales and no one has ever located them. Lillie never mentioned them as they must have gone into an orphanage or something. Both parents died in their 30's from alcoholism leaving behind 6 children. Only 4 of those children made it back to Wales and most of them are in Blaenavon still (Harry never knew this as he stayed there during the war and did not know of their existence). Because Lillie lost her baby brother and sister she must have hated her parents so much for drinking excessively and dying young that she told everyone they were shot when she was 3 and that she didn't remember them. We believe when she returned to Wales she lived with her older sister Mary Ann (a twin of her 2nd eldest brother) but she told the family she lived with foster parents (not true). This was the missing family Harry searched for most of his life but couldn't find. He couldn't find them because nothing he was told was true.
Anyway Frank might be interested in all this so pass it along.
Hope your doing well and that Lorna has found a new place to live.
Susan Warrander, March, 2002
