Note: This family of John Kennedy and Christian Carmichael of Kenmore , Scotland appears to be the correct parents of Catherine and Helen Kennedy who lived side by side in South Monaghan, Ontario, as it is the only family found thus far that has sisters of a Helen Kennedy and a Catherine Kennedy who were born in the correct years (1797 and 1794) and lived in Perthshire, Scotland. But this conclusion is somewhat circumstantial and does require further research . note by JC Anderson, Kelowna, B.C.

Note that Catherine Kennedy and husband Alexander Alexander name four of their children the same as either the parents of Catherine (John and Christian) or her siblings, that is John, Christiana, Duncan and Margaret. One of the remaining children that being Alexander Anderson would have been named after Alexander's father.

John married Christian Carmichael on 20 Nov 1785 in Kenmore, Perthshire, Scotland.¹
