Cripps,
Mr. Frank Cripps of Red Deer passed away peacefully on October 24, 1998. Frank was born January 22, 1922 at Clive, AB. He took his schooling at Satinwood, then continued his education at Olds Agricultural College. After completing his studies, he enlisted for the war, but was called back to the family farm, which he continued operating until 1966. On June 14, 1945 he married Elaine Duffy of Clive. Frank and Elaine enjoyed 53 wonderful years together. During this time Frank and Elaine farmed and operated a cabinet making business, then in 1966 moved to Red Deer where he owned Pam Ron Furniture until 1971. In 1972 Frank went into the mobile home business at Town & Country Homes until his retirement in 1988. Frank was active in the community, beginning in 1958 as President of Haynes Scout Troup, coached hockey and baseball, was active with the Lacombe Light Horse Association, served on the Westerner Exposition Board, was chairman of the Red Deer Spring Horse Show, and worked with the Red Deer Silver Buckle Rodeo committee. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Elaine, son Greg (Cheryl) of Red Deer, daughters Sherry (Eric) Hauck of Leduc and Autumn (Hob) Murphy of Edmonton, six grandchildren Jacquie, Randy, Greg, Amy , Beau and Abram, 2 great grandchildren Khain and Tayte, one brother Herb Cripps of Kamloops and extended families the Syd Robertson's of Calgary and the Andy Advani's (extended grandchildren Scott, Sabrina, Shauna, Stacey) of Lacombe.
Frank was predeceased by his parents William and Annie, brothers Jack and Ernie, sisters Mamie O'Hara and Clara Lang (sp. should be Laing, ed.) If friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 11560- University Ave. , Edmonton, T6G 1Z0. A remembrance gathering will be held at the Pioneer Lodge, 4324-46 A Ave. , Red Deer on October 30, 1998 from 2-4 pm.
