bullet  General Notes:

Wayne Townsley was a friend of my Dad. Wayne was in the Body Shop business as you know and my Father owned McCoy Brothers Spring Service. My father had frame straightening equipment and alignment equipment in his building and therefore he and Wayne did a lot of business together.

We were neighbors of the Townsleys at Seba Beach on Lake Wabamun. That is just 60 miles West of Edmonton. We had summer cottages there, so we saw quite a lot of one another.

I remember Wayne as a very happy-go-lucky kind of guy. He would build huge bonfires at night for all the kids. His favorite trick was to use 5 gallons of gasoline to start them, so they really started with a BANG.
I also remember his wife Eileen as a very small woman, around 5' 2" and slight. She was very quiet, but kind to the kids around our place. Wayne and Eileen seemed to be opposites, in that he seemed to be a party animal, what with the big fires, beer, etc. and Eileen being so quiet. Mind you I was only 7 years old, so that was my perspective.

I remember Lloyd being very interested in cars and working with his hands, so I am not surprised that he would end up as a goldsmith. I seem to remember something about some recognition that Lloyd got in Edmonton for design of furniture or something. I think that he maybe went to NAIT ( Northern Alberta Institute of Technology ) and took a design course for welding, furniture, or something like that.

I will check with my mother to see what she remembers of the Townsleys. She and Eileen were the quiet ones, while Wayne and my Dad lit up the beach. Thats all for now.
