bullet  Research Notes:

Me again...
Thomas Dyer was one of the witnesses, along with one Mary Higgs to James Dyson and Sarah Dyer 1771 marriage registration. I thought for sure Thomas was most likely Sarah's brother, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
In researching Thomas, I found a marriage record of 21 Oct 1772 for St. Matthew's Bethnal Green where he married an Elizabeth Watson.
Records show that Thomas and Elizabeth registered the birth of 4 daughters:
Mary - born 10 June 1773 and bap 27 June at St. Leonard's
Sarah - born 23 Nov 1781 and bap Dec at St. Clement Danes Westminster
Mary Watson - born 8 Nov 1787 and bap 7 Dec at St. Giles Cripplegate
Sophie Watson - born 26 Feb 1790 and bap 14 Mar at St. Giles Cripplegate
The first Mary says the address of the father Pitfield Street which is where James' brass manufacturing plant was located. The other records state the occupation of the father was a "packer". So it looks more like they were neighbours.
When I was looking for a death reg. for Sarah Dyer Dyson, I came across one for a Sarah Dyer, born abt 1782 who 7 May 1851 at age 69 who lived at Nun Green, Camberwell and was buried May 8 in Nunhead Cemetery, Linden Grove. Aha! Bathsheba Dyson died in Nunhead, Peckham, Camberwell in 1835 and had left bits and bites for a number of people. And looking at the terms of the Will, there she was: Sarah Dyer who owed Bathsheba money but was off the hook to pay 10 pounds a year rather than 'bother' her. Here are 2 Census records that tidy this all up:
1841 Surrey, St Giles Camberwell, Peckham, Nunhead
Sarah Dyer, age 60, Occ: Independent, not born in county
James Bond, age 40, Occ: Independent, born in county
Elizabeth Winck, age 30, Occ: Needlewoman, born in county
Lydia Winck, age 30, Occ: Needlewoman, born in county
1851 Surrey, Camberwell, Peckham, Dist 17, Sch#174 Nunhead Cottages
Sarah Dyer, unmarried, age 68, Occ: Annuitant, b. St. Clements, Westminster, London
Every once in a while we find a little nugget that adds to who all these folks were and how they were connected, doncha think?
Cheers,
