James Clinton Anderson 1 2
My parents did the nicest thing in the whole world for me when I was 2 years old. It was on Remembrance Day, Nov 11, 1946 that father's car rolled up to a very modest motel on the south shore of Wood Lake in the Okanagan Valley of B. C. , having driven the long road from The Pas, Manitoba. Our family was living in Flin, Flon Manitoba when I was born in 1944. Father and mother became very tired of the cold, long winters and had heard about the utopian climate of the Okanagan Valley, so they sold our house, packed up all of our belongings and shipped car and all including me and my older brother Adrian by train from Flin Flon to The Pas. (There was no road to Flin Flon in those days). A long drive followed to Calgary, Alberta and then on to Kelowna B.C.
