William Henry Greenwood 3 4 5 6
I think this is our William Henry, because finding a W.H, and a Jenny Greenwood, plus a Winfield Witt (Jenny’s husbands name, from Pennsylvania,) is too much of a coincidence. Barbara Sniffen, March, 2003

Jones, Jim and Patty, family details, Patty Jones, A descendant of William Henry Greenwood, 1857-1948,
email: jpjones@island.ne. As your information shows, Margaret Ann Winch married George Greenwood. My family line comes through their son,
William Henry Greenwood.
William Henry Greenwood was born on August 16, 1857 in Ontario, Canada. He married Helen Elizabeth Rowles (aka Ella) who was born on January 17, 1867 in Wellington County, Ontario.
She was the daughter of Agnes Robb (born approx. 1840 in Wellington County, Ontario) and her husband, Mr. Rowles. ( note the parents listed here may be incorrect as noted later by Patti Jones . These parents dont seem to match the 1881 census for Maryborough, Wellington County either. jca)
William Henry Greenwood and Helen Elizabeth Rowles were married on December 14, 1887 in Linwood, Waterloo, Ontario. They had the following children:
Wilbert Richard Greenwood, February 27, 1889, Dunwith, North Dakota
Wesley George Greenwood, December 16, 1890, Sheep Creek, Okotoks, Alberta, Canada
Russell Henry Greenwood, July 9, 1892, Sheep Creek, Okotoks, Alberta

Gladys Margaret Greenwood, August 28, 1898, Olds, Alberta
Rose Helen Greenwood, April 10, 1900, Olds, Alberta
Ida Florence Greenwood, October 7, 1901, Carstairs, Alberta

Re-reading some info I had given you, I want to make a correction. Previously I
had gotten info from the Mormon genealogy online, which my cousin had
contributed, and it said that Helen Elizabeth Rowles (more commonly called
Ella) had a mother named AGNES ROBB. However, this week I received some
information from another family genealogist in Alberta, who came across a book
on the history of Okotoks, Alberta (where many of my relatives were born) and
she sent me pages from the book. It shows.....
Thomas Rowles, born 1828 or 1834 married Margaret Smucker, only daughter of
Aaron Smucker and Sarah Van Slyke. Thomas and Margaret married in April 1854
or 1855 when she was just 15, in Hollins County, Ontario. It lists their
children, one of which is my great grandmother "Ella Elizabeth" born January
17, 1867 and married William Greenwood and had 7 children.
