Gloria (Anderson) Marek, personal knowledge. I telephoned Gloria Marek, Nov 30, 2003.. she says Rudy's father was Jeff and brother was Bernard.. (older brother), his mother died when Rudy was 16 . her name was Ella Havlik... The family came from Texas before moving to Oregon.

My Uncle William Dahlseide had only one son. His name is Ronald Dahlseid. (he dropped the e on the end of his name, I think).

3 May 1945 - Rev. Scheie conducts M. Dahlseide Rites: ---- Funeral services were held Saturday at the home and at the Concordia Lutheran church for Martin K. Dahlseide, 76, who died Monday at his home near the Dahlseide school after failing health for the past 2 years. Pallbearers were: Jergen Brunsvold, Knut Savre, Emil Brunsvold, Edward Brunsvold, Theodore Brunsvold and George Brunsvold. Leslie Larson of Hanlontown sang 2 vocal solo's. The Rev. L. F. Scheie officiated. Burial took place in the Concordia cemetery.
Johan Martin Dahlseide, son of Knudt Johnson Dahlseide and Kari Paulson Dahlseide was born 15 Oct. 1868 in Hartland township, Worth Co., Iowa. He was baptized in the Shell Rock Congregation by Rev. T. A. Torgerson and confirmed also at the Shell Rock Lutheran church by the Rev. H. B. Hustvedt. In 1886, the family moved to a farm in Bristol township, where he lived the remainder of his life except for 6 years spent in North Dakota.
He was united in marriage to Gurine Brunsvold, 22 October 1911. He was a member of the Concordia Congegation since the family moved here 58 years ago. His health had been gradually failing the past two years.
He is survived by his wife and foster daughter, Zelda, Mrs. Sherman Charlson of Northwood, and also 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Albert Dahlseide of Portland, Oregon, Carl Dahlseide of Wilmer, MN; Mrs. Dena Berge of Ypselanti, ND; Mrs. Alma Benson, Minneapolis, MN; and Mrs. Emil Iverson, Kiester, MN. All were present for the funeral rites except Carl, who was unable to come.
===========ALSO: 26 April 1945 - Anchor (front page) -- Martin Dahlseide, 76, longtime resident of Worth Co, born near the Shell Rock Church, west of Northwood, died Monday afternoon from a heart ailment. He slept away in his home east of Joice near the Dahlseide school, where he lived since childhood.
He is survived by his wife and a foster daughter, Mrs. Sherman Charlson, of Northwood, and 2 granddaughters. He is also survived by 2 brothers: Albert of Portland, Oregon and Carl of Willmar, MN and 3 sisters: Mrs. Dena Berge of Battle Lake, MN; Mrs. Elma Benson of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Emil Iverson of Kiester, MN
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 at the home and 2 o'clock at the Concordia Lutheran Church Saturday.
