Clark Dibble, 83
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, Aug 23, 2000, at Tracy Lutheran Church, for Clark Dibble. Rev. Stephen Olson and Rev. Marlene Elmstrom officiated. Organist was Richard Stelter with Bill Elmstrom as soloist. Casket bearers were his children.
Clark Gareld Dibble was born October 31, 1906 in Murray County, Minnesota, Dovray Township, Section 23. He was the youngest of seven children born to Norman I. and Anna (Winch) Dibble. He received his education attending country school, two miles south of the home farm, District #105.
Following his 8th grade graduation, Clark began a long life of many labor intensive jobs, these included working on the threshing crews, a logging camp in northern Minnesota and also for farmers as part of his journey. In 1936, he began farming on his own in Brookings County, South Dakota.
On September 28, 1938, he married Elsie I. Anderson at the Lutheran Parsonage in Brookings, South Dakota. He continued to farm in the Elkton area until the spring of 1946 when they moved to the Buffalo Lake farm in Murray County, Minnesota where they farmed until he retired in 1974. Clark and Elsie then moved into Tracy. Even in retirement, he continued to work. They enjoyed life at 401 Center Street, he liked to read and they did some traveling. In August of 1998, Clark moved to O'Brien Court in Tracy. On August 18, 2000 he entered Our House Hospice of Murray County in Slayton, MN. He died there on Saturday, August 19, 2000.
Clark was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Dovray where he remained a member until his retirement. He then joined Tracy Lutheran Church.
During his lifetime, he enjoyed and loved his work horses, and being on the farm where he whistled throughout the day. He taught his children a strong work ethic.
He is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Jane and Robert Hanson, Rochester, MN; Karen and Colin Nyren, South Haven, MN; Marie and Lon Flaten, Bemidji, MN; three sons, Gareld and wife Demona, Smartsville, CA; Charles, Dovray, MN and Roger, San Diego, CA; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, brother in-law Elmer Anderson and wife Mavis, Westbrook, MN many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Elsie, an infant son, one sister Bernice, and brothers, Herb, Clarence, Floyd, Les and Norman.
Interment was at Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, Dovray, MN with Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy, MN handling arrangements.
The family requests that you please give memorials to either Our House Hospice of Slayton or Tracy Lutheran Church.
