Was Lilla Amy really a daughter of John Robert Sutton Hudson. ?. so far cant find a birth registration for her under the name Hudson... None for Ellis either.......
Eventually found her as Lilla Amy Edwards, born 25 Dec, 1859 in 74 King Street, Southsea, Hampshire and the birth registered in the first quarter of 1860 in Portsea Island.
The 1860 birth registration shows that Lilla Amy Hudson started off in life as Lilla Amy Edwards.. and the 1861 census for the family of John and Elizabeth Edwards with daughter Lilla A Edwards is in agreement with that of the 1871 census for the family of John R S Hudson and his wife Elizbeth Ellis.

Received same on May 16, 2005. born 25 Dec 1859. father = John Edwards and mother= Elizabeth Edwards, formerly Ellis.
This would appear that John and Elizabeth Hudson are living their lives in 1860 and 1861 as "Edwards" which is very interesting indeed. One might think that perhaps the father of Lilla was indeed a John Edwards except the evidence of the 1861 census which shows the family in accordance with the 1871 census, even down to the occupation of John Edwards in 1861 as a "Brewers Foreman" which matches that for our John Robert Sutton Hudson.
The 1901 census showing Lilla Hudson (now Borradaile) confirms the 25 December birth date, however Lilla has shaved 3 years off her age, indicating a birth year of 1862, better matching the marriage date of her parents in 1863.
