bullet  General Notes:

Joseph appears in Canada for the first time on the 1901 census of Peterborough , where he is living with his father , his step-mother Isabelle (Roadhouse) Wright and her family by her previous husband Stephen Roadhouse. Later census takings in 1911 and 1921 show that they are living at the address of 302 Louis Street, which matches the address given on his 1914 WW1 attestation papers. His father and step-mother live there at that address at least until the father's death in 1933 , which is backed up by the census takings of 1911 and 1921.

As per the 1901 census in Peterborough, Joseph Wright, of, that he born in the USA on 6 March, 1885 and indicating a return to Canada in 1896, which fits with what appears to be an exodus of the Wright family to the US sometime after the 1861 census in Ontario, and before the 1870 census in the US. jca. The lack of an 1890 census in the USA does not help matters at all. His 1914 WW1 attestation papers filled out in Vancouver, indicated a birth date of 25 Aug, 1885, while his 1936 death registration in BC indicates a birth of August 16th, 1884. It is usually considered that earlier accounts of birth dates are to be more highly respected.

so where is our Joseph Noble Wright on the 1911 census ??
One interesting record is a very difficult to read record in Moose Jaw, Sask where a 25 year old man with the last name of Wright, living in a humble boarding house at 130 River W., birth March or May ? 1885, age 25, seems to be born in Canada, religion not readable, occupation not readable.

I should like to view a copy of the microfilm. perhaps it is more workable. James. Dec 14, 2014.
