Sunday, September 16th (2001) is the memorial bench dedication in honor of Harry Huish. It will be held at Heritage Park in Calgary at 11:00 am down by the town hall. That will be followed by a memorial tree ceremony at Fish Creek Park. A light supper will follow at Ellen Huish's house (Harry's widow).

Today members of the Harris family attended a memorial bench dedication at Heritage Park. Ruth Manning gave a talk on Harry's service at the park (over 7000 volunteer hours in over 28 years). The bench is located across from the Wainright Hotel and we encourage all family to go visit the bench and stop there for a rest. There will be pictures coming as most of Harry's family turned out (about 25 people). Afterwards we attended a dedication at Fish Creek Park where a tree was planted in Harry's name. This tree dedication is done once a year so the service was attended by several thousand people. In the wake of the devasting attack on New York City the park has planted 100 trees in honor of those lives lost on September 11, 2001. Harry has a small pine tree next to a wagon rut which seems very fitting.

Harry Joseph Huish of Calgary passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Saturday, December 30, 2000 at the age of 75 years.
