Hi,

I haven't made it over to Fllmore county yet and guess I won't get there for while now, as I return to work on the 17th. But I did make it back to the Blue Earth County Court House and found out thats Where JAMES WINCH remarried for the second time, after ALLISON DOUGLAS WINCH died in 1875 he remarried (drum roll please) ELIZABETH HAMILTON on April 13, 1876, it was witnessed by THOMAS HAMILTON & GEORGE HAMILTON. I then checked the 1880 Census for Blue Earth County in the Pleasant Mound township and found this:
HAMILTON THOMAS, age 47, farmer, born Scotland, mother born Scotland, father born Scotland.
HAMILTON MARY, age 34, wife, born Scotland, mother born Scotland, father born Scotland.
HAMILTON JOHN, age 14, son, born Scotland, mother born Scotland, father born Scotland.
HAMILTON WILLIAM, age 12, born Scotland, mother born Scotland, father born Scotland.
HAMILTON ETTA, age 16, born Scotland, mother born Scotland, father born Scotland.
WINCH LIZZY, age 28, cousin, temporary home, born Scotland, mother born Scotland, father born Scotland.

Elizabeth married James Winch, son of Samuel Winch and Elizabeth Monteney, on 13 Apr 1876 in Blue Earth County, Minnesota.⁹⁸⁰ (James Winch was born in 1841 in E. Gwillimbury, ON, Canada,^134,970 died in 1885 in Spokane, Washington ⁹⁷² and was buried in Old Methodist Cemetery, Spokane, WA ⁹⁷².)

  Marriage Notes:

It would appear that the marriage of James Winch to Elizabeth Hamilton didnt last long as the two are separated on the 1880 census with Elizabeth still using her Hamilton name and living at least temporarily with her cousin Thomas Hamilton in Pleasant Mound township of Blue Earth County, MN.

James dies in Spokane, Washington in 1885 while Elizabeth was admitted to St Peter Mental Hospital in 1882 and dies in 1908. jca
