Note the LDS Ancestal files has Mary Moffit AFN: 1NN9-1C5 marrying a William Cox.. This just has to be an error as all the evidence in Boone county courthouse shows Thomas Cox. This includes Thomas leaving a will in 1845 and leaves "all to wife Mary". Later the sale of property mentions the family of Mary Cox, Hugh Cox, William Cox and his wife Matilda"

Petition to sell Real Estate

February 7, 1856, Appraisal of three fifths of the East half of the South East quarter of section 28, township 20, North of range 2 west by two independant appraisers found to be appraised at $1380.
The court ordered a bond to be posted for $2800 (twice the amount of the appraisement ) for the protection of the minor heirs of Thomas Cox. Those heirs being Joab Cox, Hiram Cox and Hannah Cox.
The bond to be posted by Mary Cox and Joshua Moffitt.

Mary, William and Hugh Cox to Mathias Roland

We, Mary Cox, William Cox and Matilda his wife and Hugh Cox, widow and heirs at law of Thomas Cox deceased of Boone County in the state of Indiana convey and warrant to Mathias Roland of the same place for the sum of nine hundred and sixty dollars the following real estate in Boone County in the state of Indiana to wit the undivided two fifth parts of the East half of the South East Quarter of Section twenty eight (28), Township twenty (20) North of Range two (2) west containing eighty acres by government survey and all the improvements thereon and all the right title claim or interest of the said Mary Cox in and to the whole of said tract of land by virtue of the will of Thomas Cox deceased or otherwise. In witness whereof the said Mary Cox, William Cox and Hugh Cox have hereto set their hands and seals this 30th day of April, 1856,
