Aged Lady Dead
Mrs. William Winch died at the home of her son, Oliver, in this city on the afternoon of Friday, January, 22 from apoplexy. She was stricken about nine in the morning and died at four the same afternoon without regaining consciousness. Hannah Cox was born at Thornton, Ind. April 22, 1841. While a girl she removed with her parents to Fillmore County, Minn., where in 1860 she was united in marriage to William Winch. In 1889 she came to this county and resided in Glenwood township with her son Oliver. In 1895 the family removed to this city where she has since resided. She was of a cheerful, bright disposition , doing gladly the tasks which came to her through life, and giving a full measure of love and devotion to the members of the family circle. She was a member of the Methodist church from childhood. She is survived by six children, two sons, Oliver of this city, and Willard, of Goose Lake, Sask., and four daughters, Mesdames James Anderson, of Preeceville, Sask., C.W. Holmes of Devils Lake; B. L. Hotchkiss of White Bluff, Wash, and Ida M. Buel , of St. Paul, Minn. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Oliver Winch, Rev. H. H. Moore, of the Methodist church officiating and the interment was in the city cemetery. __________________________________________________
